Marilyn Smith

Marilyn Sue Schutkesting Smith, 80, was born Dec. 13, 1943, to Fred and Charolotte Shaw Schutkesting at her home in Hennessey and died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Hennessey Care Center.

She married Jerry Smith in Hennessey on June 15, 1962, a union that would span over 61 years.

She is survived by her husband Jerry of the home; three daughters, Sherri Fipps and husband Allen, Stacy Sturgill and husband Sheldon, all of Hennessey, Ronda Creevan and husband Chad of Enid; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nettie Racer of Hennessey; and several nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Fred Schutkesting and Bill Schutkesting; and sisters Joanna Pearson, Patricia Martin and Erma McGee; nieces Paula Schutkesting and Monica Racer and nephews Freddy Schutkesting and John McGee.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at First United Methodist Church officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile and Rev. Sandy Shepherd. Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery.
