Altman, who has made previous donations on behalf of Altman Engineering, is urging other oil companies and royalty owners benefiting from higher natural gas prices to share their bounty with utility customers who are struggling with soaring costs. September electric bills that went out last week from the Kingfisher Public Works Authority included a power cost adjustment of nearly 4.5 cents per kWh, 1.5 cents higher than last month. Porter reported her office was inundated with assistance requests Monday, but without an infusion of new funds, help is limited. Donations can be made online at www.SalvationArmyKingfisher.com or via check with “utility assistance” in the memo, mailed to P.O. Box 165, Kingfisher, 73750. [KT&FP Staff Photo]
