Read moreCoronado Masonic Lodge #56 held a dinner followed by an open meeting Tuesday, May 18, in Hennessey to recognize and honor 11 Masons with membership pins and plaques. Pictured are, from left: front row, honorees and presenters Gene Spillman, Deputy Grand Master Scott Vincent, 50-Year member Bobby Mills (with plaque), Grand Master Robert Davis, Darrell Lee and John Curran; second row, Richard Kerr, Gerald Stegall, Roe LaPorte, Mike Smith, Dr. John Smith; and back row, Jack Painter and Warren McConnell. The local lodge also presented LaPorte with a lifetime membership. It also continues to support Hennessey graduates each year in writing competition awards, as well as Students of Today honors at the Hennessey High, Middle and Elementary schools to students who demonstrate good citizenship, leadership and academic development. Members also give $500 awards to Dover and Hennessey School District Teachers of the Year, assist with numerous other school and community events and fundraisers.
