Read moreKingfisher’s Myles Harrison (pictured) shot a 2-over-par 72 Thursday at the Lake Hefner Golf Club’s south course. The round tied him for fifth out of 109 golfers in the small-school division of the Bluejay Bash. Harrison’s round was just one stroke off the winning score of 71, which was shot by four different players. As a team, KHS placed ninth out of 19 full squads with its 318 total. Luciano Orozco shot a 79, Cale Reagan an 80, Paytun Burnham an 87 and Ryan Sanders an 89. Playing as an individual, Matthew Mecklenburg carded an 84 for Kingfisher. The Warriors followed up that win with a 17-0 victory over Porum on Thursday evening, leaving them one win shy of reaching the state tournament. The first opportunity came Friday evening (after press time) when Okarche was set to host the Porum-Pioneer winner at 6:30 p.m. If Okarche won, the Warriors punched their ticket to state.
