All three Kingfisher County commissioners declared equipment items for surplus designation at Monday’s weekly meeting.

Approval cleared the way for the equipment, most of it older, to be included in the Circuit Engineering District 8 auction in March at Elk City.

Commissioners Heath Dobrovolny, District 3, Ray Alan Shimanek, District 2, and Jeff Moss, District 1, chairman, also reviewed a state fire marshal’s inspection report on the new county jail presently under construction. Sheriff Dennis Banther reported that all recommendations by the fire marshal’s office have been implemented.

Assistant County Clerk Emily Lee, who served as recording secretary for Monday’s meeting, reported that an annual county fair board election scheduled Saturday will not be necessary as incumbents Jay Evans, District 1, Charles Patocka, District 2, and Shane Clifton, District 3, were unopposed for re-election.

County Engineer Nik Smith reported that he had received notice that commissioners are being encouraged to attend a rules hearing at an upcoming meeting of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

County commissioners approved a public access drive for Titus Services, LLC at a point nine miles west and one mile north of Kingfisher in District 3 and a $3,000 fine for D. Williams regarding a pipeline that was partially removed with a section still in a culvert at the intersection of NS 2810 and EW 860 roads.

Retired District 1 Commissioner Keith Schroder visited briefly before the start of the business meeting.
