Basketball assignments made

Kingfisher will be in familiar territory for this year’s basketball playoffs. The OSSAA last Friday released playoff assignments for Classes 2A-4A. Those assignments revealed Kingfisher will be hosting both a district and a regional in Class 4A. And then, when it’s time to hit the road, the teams will travel to Washington for the area tournament. KHS has already played a game at Washington this season. The OSSAA places two teams ranked in the top-eight in each of four areas. On the boys’ side, No. 1 Kingfisher and No. 5 Anadarko are those teams. For the girls, it’s No. 2 Classen SAS and No. 5 Anadarko. Kingfisher’s girls could potentially play Classen SAS in the first round of the regional. In Class 2A, Crescent and Cashion will host their respective district tournaments, but will travel after that. Hennessey won’t host any playoff games. The 2A-4A districts begin Feb. 15. Following are the assignments for the four local schools. District hosts are listed first:
