County commissioners give OK for HFD brush truck equipment
Kingfisher County commissioners approved the bid of Myder Fire Support for installation of equipment on the Hennessey Fire Department brush truck at a cost of $121,346.36 Monday at their weekly meeting.
Fire Chief Brandon Scott and Assistant Chief James Matousek were present at the meeting and recommended the Myder bid which met all bid requirements.
Scott said work was expected to begin on the unit by March 18.
Bids were opened two weeks earlier and tabled for study by Hennessey F.D. officials and were scheduled for action at the ensuing week’s meeting.
However, that meeting was postponed due to snow and the action was carried over to Monday’s meeting.
Other action taken during a 10-minute meeting included:
• Approval of a pipeline crossing application by BVM VI LLC for a six-inch poly line at a point 6.5 miles south of the U.S. 81-S.H. 51 intersection, and,
• Approval of the county’s personnel policy handbook corrections.
Commission Chairman Anthony Schwarz reported that a meeting with the architect was scheduled a 1 p.m. Thursday at the county jail to discuss possible expansion at the site.
All commissioners were present for the meeting – Schwarz, District 3; Mike Sparks, District 2, and Jeff Moss, District 1 –along with City-County Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage, County Engineer Nik Smith, County Clerk Emily Lee as official minute clerk, along with Matousek, Scott, Johnny Roe with Ergon Asphalt and Emulsion and citizen Kelly Buck.
