County tax bills have been mailed

By

Your check isn’t in the mail, but your tax bill is.

After a delay of about six weeks, Kingfisher County Treasurer Robin Rother said ad valorem tax bills were mailed at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16.

Those who don’t want to wait for them to be delivered can also access them at www.oktaxrolls. com, said Rother.

Since the tax bills were sent later than usual, the deadline to pay has been extended.

Rother said that due date is now Jan. 31, 2025.

The bills are generally sent out around the first of November, but were held up this year until a resolution was found regarding the budget for Kingfisher Public Schools.

The county excise board approved - for the second time - a KPS estimate of needs on Nov. 24, which allowed the county to finalize its budget.

The budget still had to go through the state level and await a 15-day protest period.

Once that expired, Kingfisher County Assessor Carrie Turner was able to complete the tax rolls and turn them over to Rother for her to begin to generate the tax bills.

Rother and her staff wrapped up that work Monday and were able to get the bills sent out.
