Meeting moves: KPS pushes meeting back 1 week; city cancels, extends deadline for commissioner candidates
One local government body has moved its August meeting date while another won’t be able to meet at all.
Kingfisher Board of Education generally meets the first Monday of each month, which is Aug. 4 for this month.
However, the district posted a notice stating the meeting will now be held Monday, Aug. 11.
KPS regular board meetings begin at 7 p.m. and are held in the Kingfisher Junior High library.
Kingfisher City Commission won’t be meeting in August.
This month’s meeting was scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11, but City Clerk Brittney Hladik sent a notice stating the commission wouldn’t meet this month due to too many conflicts of interests.
“The meeting cancellation is due to several work scheduling conflicts with commissioners and legal counsel due to work schedules,” the notice said.
The next scheduled regular meeting is now Monday, Sept. 8.
The commission is still seeking a fifth member to fill an unexpired term.
The seat was left open when Debbie Burpo had to resign her seat last month after moving outside of city limits.
The city is accepting letters of interest from citizens willing to take on that role and has extended the deadline for those letters to Sept. 4.
