New face on the Kingfisher beat
Massey among the recent hires by police department
Aubrey Massey is new to the Kingfisher Police Department… But not brand new.
And not brand new to the profession either.
Massey started with the KPD on Sept. 22 and brought with him several years of law enforcement experience.
Prior to joining the department here, Massey spent three-and-a-half years as a member of the Calumet Police Department.
That came after Massey had completed Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) in Ada, but even that was preceded by multiple years of work in the field.
A 2015 graduate of Yukon High School, Massey served about five months at the Okarche Police Department in 2018.
He then worked in the Canadian County Sheriff’s Department Jail for nearly three years.
Before attending CLEET, Massey, who has a 4-year-old daughter named Laekynn, stepped away from law enforcement. He worked in both the oilfield and farmed and then completed CLEET in 2022.
While at Calumet, Massey worked his way to the rank of corporal.
“We’re very excited to have him here,” said KPD Chief Travis Gray. “It’s good to be able to bring someone on with the experience he has and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
