Protest stalls action on waste dump

A Tuesday court hearing before a state Corporation Commission judge didn’t take place Tuesday due to a protest filed by landowners.

Now the matter will go before an administrative law judge and it could be early next year before that happens, the KT&FP was told.

Centennial Solids Control LLC, 169001 E. 670 Road, Hennessey, wants to make seven waste management pits in this area: “E/2 E/2 NW/4 SW/4, NE/4 SW/4, Northern 100 feet of the SE14 SWI4, and the Northern 100 feet of the NE/4 SW/4 SW/4 of Section 5, Township 19 North, Range 6 West I.M., Kingfisher County, Oklahoma.”

That property consists of approximately 51.76 acres and applicant (Centennial) is the surface landowner, according to the application filed with the Corporation Commission.

The Hennessey Board of Trustees unanimously voted at its monthly meeting last week to object to the company’s proposal on grounds that it illegally included property inside the town limits.
