Schools plan to honor veterans Tuesday
All the county’s school districts will honor military veterans with assemblies, programs - and some even with meals - next week.
Veterans Day (Nov. 11) falls this year on Tuesday.
Below are details shared by school districts on their plans to honor veterans: • Lomega Student Council invites veterans to a lunch and program.
Veterans and a spouse or guest are invited to a lunch at noon in the high school gym lobby.
The program begins at 1 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

• Hennessey Public Schools is hosting a program at 10 a.m. in the HPS auditorium.
All veterans are invited to attend.
• Cashion Public Schools has a program planned, but details weren’t made avaialble by press time.
• Kingfisher High School Student Council is hosting a program at 11 a.m. at the KHS All-Purpose Building.
The ceremony will be conducted by the Oklahoma Boys State and Oklahoma Girls State delegates. The KHS band and choir will also perform.
After the program, honorees and a guest will be treated to a lunch in the high school commons.

• Okarche Public Schools will honor veterans beginning with a breakfast at 8 a.m. in the high school gym lobby.
That will be followed by a program at 9 a.m. in the high school gym.
• Dover Public Schools will host its program at 10 a.m. in the high school gym. All local veterans are invited to attend.
