THE KINGFISHER HIGH SCHOOL choir received the highest possible score at the OSSAA state contest held April 3 at Stillwater High School. Directed by Diann Magnus, the choir received “superior” ratings from all three judges. The choir sang “Cantate Domino” by Giovanni Anerio, a 12-page a cappella renaissance piece, and “Stars I Shall Find” by Victor C. Johnson. Choirs sing for three judges and the ratings of the judges are averaged for the fi nal rating. Magnus said the choir was praised for tone quality, interpretation of the music, well-pronounced Latin and balance and blend. The choir qualifi ed for state by garnering a superior rating at the district contest on March 12. Choir members include, from left: front row, seniors Avery Stutts, Caleb Hendryx and Bianca Garcia; second row, Haylee Crum, Serenity Lack and Amya Reyes; third row, Amber Beagle, Audrey Long and Hunter Miller; fourth row, Indy Barker, Ethan McLean, TJ Washington and Caroline Swafford; and back row, Julianna Austin, Kennedy Stephens, Journe Washington and Andrew Takape.
