The Torch is Passed
The KHS Photography program has a new chief photographer, Wyatt Long (standing center). Previous chiefs, seniors Hayden Green (standing right) and Myles Harrison (standing left) have stepped down/up to the “Chief Emeritus” status saying their replacement needs to come on duty before the end of the school year so the former chiefs can advise and assist. Long is a three-year veteran of the photography program who has received numerous accolades for his work. He is a frequent winner at the State Youth Photo Contest and his work often appears in local publications. “Wyatt is an outstanding photographer from both the technical and artistic sides,” said Dr. A.J. Johnson, who is the KHS Photography program’s longtime sponsor. “His photojournalism is fi rst rate and his portrait work is among the best I’ve seen students do. He has the organizational and leadership skills to continue the program’s tradition of excellence.” Long will be a senior for the 2025-26 school year. Also on the KHS Photography staff are, seated from left: freshman Finley Harrison, senior Karen Muñoz, junior Bryan Campos and freshman Frederic Belin. KHS Photography staff members attend hundreds of Kingfi sher Public Schools events throughout the school year. Their work can be found - and purchased - at www.khsphotography.smugmug. com.
