WEEKEND EDITIN PRINTING EARLY: Our Sunday, Nov. 30, edition, will be printing two days early to work around the Thanksgiving holiday. Instead of printing Friday, it will go to press Wednesday afternoon (quite possibly as you’re reading this). That moved our legal and advertising deadlines for the weekend paper up to Tuesday afternoon. County subscribers should receive the edition on the normal delivery schedule as it will be delivered to local Post Offices on Friday. For breaking news, please visit our Facebook page.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST: Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, entries can be taken to the Kingfisher Memorial Library from Dec. 4 until 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, when they will be judged. See the ad in this edition for more information.

KINGFISHER WINTER NIGHTS: The grand opening is 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, and will include the lighting of the 55-foot Norwegian Spruce at the north entrance of Kingfisher Park. Opening night of KWN will also feature music, snacks, hot cocoa, train rides and - of course - the lights. KWN will be open until Dec. 27. Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and it’s open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Santa will even visit every Friday and Saturday night except Dec. 26 and 27. For more information, follow KWN on Facebook and Instagram.

SHOP KINGFISHER FIRST: Be sure to check out our “Shop Local” editions each week as Kingfisher merchants provide great local shopping opportunities for the holidays.

PARADE AND FIREWORKS: Kingfi sher Chamber of Commerce’s biggest annual event is Saturday, Dec. 6. The parade, which starts at 6 p.m., is the exclamation point on a full day of activities that includes a 5K run, movie matinee, craft show, food trucks, downtown shopping and eating and much more. And after the parade will be a magical fireworks show.
