The Kingfisher High School robotics team is offi cially called the Bob-Bots (more specifically, Team #23703).

But where did the name Bob-Bots come from?

It turns out there’s a history between “Bob” and several team members.

One of the team’s coaches, Melody Kuehn, explains: “When they were in FIRST Lego League two years ago, they made a little mascot out of pieces and named him Bob.

“Bob went to the competition with them. He was a talking piece during their presentation and even made the trip to state when they went that year.

“Audrey Long crocheted him a little hat and he goes everywhere with them even now. They will make sure he’s in the case.

“He’s been on the shirt design for the past two seasons since they moved up to FTC.

“So they decided to call themselves the Bob Bots.”
