‘ Women in Agriculture’ the presentation topic by Reherman at Theta Tau meeting
Theta Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha met in the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17.
President Paige Krause opened the meeting with the ritual and conducted the business meeting.
Stormy Simmons gave the devotional.
Terri Peck, educational director, introduced Darcy Thiems Reherman, the group’s first speaker of the sorority year.
She spoke on “Women in Agriculture.”
Reherman is a native of Kingfisher, a farmer’s wife and a CPA with her own business in Kingfisher.
She began her career with Bob Funk and Express Personnel and Express Ranch. While working with Funk enterprises, she was involved with the process of livestock breeds, angus and herefords, breeding and marketing.
Her CPA career is now limited to doing only accounting for all the Funk businesses.
Reherman, on behalf of her young daughter’s dog kennel business, “Buddy Barn,” gave a donation to the chapter for a philanthropic project, e.g. St. Jude’s.
The chapter made a monetary donation to its state projects, Oklahoma School for the Blind and the Oklahoma School for the Deaf, for the students’ Christmas gifts.
Aunt Bill’s candy will be made on Nov. 14-15 with about 225 pounds being made and it will be ready to deliver during and after that week.
Orders are being taken now.
Baking dates for Amish bread and cinnamon rolls will be Nov. 28-29 to have available for Winterfest on Dec. 2.
The Social Committee will host the 50 for $50 St. Jude Fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Nov. 1 at Interbank. The menu will be brisket, sides, drink and dessert for $20.
Members, spouses and guests are invited with reservations to be made in advance.
The 2024 hostess chapters for the state convention met Saturday, Oct. 22, at the home of Cathy Holsted in Yukon. The hostess chapters are Theta Tau, Zeta Gamma, Shawnee and Kappa Theta, Guthrie.
The chapter will give a monetary donation to Santa’s Toyland under the guidance of Kingfisher Community Collaborative.
The next meeting will be Nov. 21.
