‘Jam’ out at The Chisholm
On the last Saturday of June, July, August, September and October, The Chisholm will present a series of jam sessions in the parlor room of Horizon Hill, the home of Territorial Governor A.J. Seay.
Each session is from 1 to 4 p.m.
They will start with a performance by Wayne Cantwell, also known as the “Flyin’ Fiddler,” followed by an old-time jam session.
Musicians of all levels are encouraged to attend this great learning opportunity and sit and play alongside seasoned performers.
New players are encouraged to watch, listen and join in, along with professional musicians playing traditional “old-time” hits.
The event is free for musicians who would like to participate (acoustic instruments only) and will be open to museum visitors to observe.
On Thursday, The Chisholm held the first of three outdoor concerts as part of its Summer Sounds series.
The next two events - all free - will be July 17 with The Jimmy Lee Jordan Band and Aug. 21 with Travis Kidd.
