1-day snow falls

By

Kingfisher experienced a one-day snowstorm Thursday.

The snow didn’t amount to much but local crops received some welcome relief after an extended dry spell. Rain amounts exceeding a half inch fell during the night before the snow.

Rainfall amounts ranged from .75 inch at the National Weather Service Station in Kingfisher to .4 inch at the Hennessey CHS Elevator.

A Cashion Grain and Feed spokesperson reported .7 inch. Okarche Grain and Feed reported amounts from .6 to .8 inch. Other area reports included .6 inch at the Twila Adams residence east of Kingfisher, .67 inch at the Mesonet station on the Mueggenborg Farm west of Kingfisher, .7 inch at the Mike and Donna Reid residence southwest of Kingfisher and over half an inch at the Rick and Robin Johnston residence northwest of Dover.
