Wine & Chocolate Festival goers will be able to taste wines from a dozen Oklahoma wineries and vintners and nine tables of chocolate Saturday afternoon in Hennessey.

It will again be held at Memorial Park on Main Street from 2-6 p.m.

Advance tickets are available at Hennessey Town Hall and Way Out West in Enid.

Tickets remain the same price at $20 per person for a take-home wine glass, wine and chocolate, or $5 for chocolate only.

Cost is the same Saturday, but should save waiting in lines.

Shuttles will run from Main Street parking lots, plus off-site parking west of The Dome and HPS Auditorium.

There will be three check-in lines: advance tickets, cash only and cred it/debit cards/cash.

Hennessey police will check IDs, place wristbands and wine glasses will be given after admission is paid.

Those who want chocolate only will be given a ticket to show at those booths.

It’s the 10th year for the festival sponsored by the Hennessey United Association. The board finalized festival plans at its Wednesday night meeting.

Co-chairs Wes Hardin (wine, 405-853-0115) and Teresa Oliver (chocolate, 405-368-8741) announced the following had signed up for tables:

Wine

Put a Cork in It, Oklahoma City; Stableridge Winery, Stroud; OkeOzark Winery, Salina; Tidewater Winery, Drumright; Native Spirits Winery, Norman; Sabatia Vineyards, Norman; Pecan Creek Winery, Muskogee; Rock Creek Distillery, Shattuck, and Entwined Vines Winery, Anadarko.

Hennessey wines are Turner Me On, Stubborn Bull and Vernost Wine Co.

Chocolate

Oliver, who is also vice president, said the following signed up for chocolate tables: Cakes by Diane, Ames; Mama’s Sweet Rolls, Enid; Sombria Chocolates, Enid, and Toasted Fruit & Wine Spreads, Tulsa. Local chocolate vendors participating are Sweet & Sassy Treats, Sparky’s, Eat It Up, Black Diamond Candy and The Mercantile Cafe.

Other Tables

Hardin said the Oklahoma Grape Industry Council will again have a booth and the Coronado Masonic Lodge will have a raffle for a wine cooler.

Ribeye Steak Sandwiches

Hardin said Hennessey Volunteer Firefighters will again have their grills going from 2-6 p.m. They will serve ribeye steak sand wiches, chips, pickle and a bottle of water for $10.

Long Lines

The board discussed how they could cut down on the waiting time in lines and decided to ask that the town have more police there to check IDs while people are still in the lines.

Main Street Halloween Treats

United will join others in downtown Hennessey from 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, when businesses will have trick-or-treat for youngsters.

The group planned to have its trailer set up in front of the Wellness Center to hand out candy.

Cathy Howard, board secretary, said she’d ask United’s high school leadership students to also help.

HHS senior and board member Ashland Crites said she’d help and Hardin told her she’d have to come in costume.

She said that wouldn’t be a problem because she always wears a costume for her birthday, Oct. 31.

At the Meeting

Present at the meeting were President Stacy Cline, Treasurer Tammy Lott-Hopkins, Kaden Mitchell (via Zoom), Scott Hajek, Barb Walter, W. Hardin, Oliver, Howard and Crites.

Absent were Bert Gritz and Dagan Hardin.
