3 elected to school, town seats
Two county school board members and a Hennessey town trustee were elected Tuesday in low-turnout contests.
HENNESSEY TOWN BOARD
David O. Jones carried 75 of the 105 votes cast (71.4%) in the two-person race for Hennessey Town Board of Trustees.
Jones bested challenger Frank Patton, who received 30 votes (28.6%), to take the seat vacated by Keith Meek, who resigned last year.
Jones retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant and also is retired from a civilian career in the Department of Defense.
He and his wife Linda have three children.
CASHION SCHOOL BOARD
Former Cashion ag instructor Chris Carroll won the Cashion School Board Seat No. 2 outright in a three-person race.
Carroll carried 209 of the 318 votes cast (65.7%), winning a solid majority over challengers Jenifer Stockton (84 votes – 26.4%) and Chuck Kordis (25 votes – 7.9%). Carroll is a 1998 Cashion grad and currently serves as chief operating officer at National Livestock Credit Corp in Oklahoma City.
He and wife Holly have two children, Maggie, a sixth grader, and Reed, a third grader.
Nathan Guinn carried 64 of the 93 votes cast (68.8%) by Dover School District patrons and will be seated for the unexpired term of Seat No. 1.
Challengers Jason G. Witt carried 17 votes (18.3%) and Sheila Holmes 12 votes (12.9%).
Guinn is a 1989 Dover grad and holds an accounting degree from SWOSU. He works for Pioneer Telephone Cooperative as a wireless capacity analyst.
He and his wife Stephanie have two children, Donnie and Erin.

Area school board seats which drew only two candidates will appear on ballots in the April 5 general election, including:
Kingfisher, Seat 2 – Dana Golbek; Mitch Massey.
Dover, Seat 2 – Adam Schilde; Matilda Caldwell.
Hennessey, Seat 2 – Chandra Garcia-Seiger; James M. Matousek.
Crescent, Seat 2 – Mark Garrett; Lisa Graff.
