35 have already signed up for runs at Hennessey’s Easter Fest
Early registration closed Friday for Hennessey’s 5K and 3K runs and the onemile walk.
It will reopen at Bull Foot Park on run day Saturday, April 19, from 8-8:30 a.m. with a 9 a.m. start time.
Registration is $15 and includes a festival t-shirt.
Early registration was only to assure participants that their shirt size would be available at check-in, The Times & Free Press was told, and they planned to have plenty of shirts available the day of the event.
Medals will be awarded to first, second and third place winners in the 5K and 3K events.
Run sponsor is Hennessey’s family- owned Quick Pump Service Co.
Abel Moreno started the company in 2008 in Enid, then in 2011 he and his wife, Pilar, moved the business to Hennessey.
Their three children work for the company “along with a team of great drivers,” according to the company’s website.
The 5K and 3K runs are only the start of a full day of Easter Fest events planned by the Hennessey Lions Club at Bull Foot Park including games for the kids, a fishing derby, food and as usual a noon Easter egg hunt with hundreds of eggs filled with goodies and two of those eggs are for Xbox games.
