4-H, Cloverbuds’ Food Showdown, Cupcake Wars winners announced
Kingfisher County 4-H Food Showdown and Cloverbud Cupcake Wars were held late last month at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building.
There were 11 Cloverbuds who participated in the Cupcake Wars.
The Cloverbuds decorated cupcakes like turtles. They were able to name and tell a little story about their cupcakes.
There were nine 4-H teams from Cashion 4-H and one team from Lomega 4-H who competed in the Kingfisher County Food Showdown.
Oklahoma 4-H Food Showdown is a youth culinary challenge where two or three member teams compete to create a dish while demonstrating their knowledge in foods and nutrition, kitchen safety, equipment and creativity in food preparation.
4-H Food Showdown teams will create their dish using only a clue, provided secret ingredients and items from the common pantry.
From the secret ingredients, 4-H members must identify, prepare and then present information related to the serving size, nutritional value and cost of the dish.
The first place and second place winners in each age division will be able to compete in the West District 4-H Food Showdown on July 1.
