4th person applies for Hennessey trustee seat
Michael Grace submitted his application July 18 to the Town of Hennessey for appointment to the Board of Trustees and Utilities Authority.
Grace works on the Kingfisher County District 2 road crew and has worked for the county for 24 years.
In answer to why he wants to serve on the board, he wrote: “To serve the town, and people, I’ve been around my whole life.”
His experience with board responsibilities: “No experience personally. I have watched and paid attention to local politics and their responsibilities for many years.”
Grace has been a registered voter in Hennessey since he was 18; is willing to file for election to the board and said he would attend Oklahoma Municipal League classes.
Other Candidates
Listed in order of applying, are: Frank Patton, office manager at Iron Eagle Resources in Hennessey. He was a candidate for the board in 2022 and in 2023.
Regina Wanzer, activity and social services director for Summers Health Services in Okeene. She was a town board candidate in 2007.
Tim Riddle, manager and vice president of Community State Bank. He was appointed to town board in October 1997 to replace Jay States who’d moved outside town limits. He was vice mayor 1998-99; filed in 1999 for Ward 1 four-year term, went unopposed, mayor 2000-02.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the board is 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Town Hall.

Candidates must live inside the Hennessey town limits.
