5 towns, county receive larger November sales tax checks
Five of six Kingfisher County towns and Kingfisher County showed increases in sales tax checks for November compared to a year earlier.
Loyal led the parade in percentage of gain at 93.1%.
Dover was the only town with a smaller check but it was only a 4.6% decrease.
The November 2021 distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from September business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from Sept. 16-30 and estimated sales from Oct. 1-15.
The disbursement of $180,055,576 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and to wns reflected an increase of $21,497,356 from the $158,558,220 distributed to the cities and towns in November last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $29,225,271.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $29,824,497 sales tax disbursement and a $5,007,780 use tax disbursement.
Use tax checks received by area towns (use tax is collected on purchases made out of town for delivery within the county and the use tax rate is the same as the entity’s sales tax rate) follow with the November 2021 tax amount listed first and last November’s second:
Kingfisher – $69,538.70 and $75,870.88.
Hennessey – $15,303.92 and $16,286.79.
Cashion – $8,583.48 and $5,875.85.
Dover –2,307.49 and $3,165.43.
Okarche – $19,479.51 and $13,672.69
Kingfisher County – $125,425.14 and $82,389.22.
Crescent – $7,359.73 and $6,319.96.
Watonga – $13,381.67 and $13,594.88
