About Historical Society Chairman Kevin Hopkins

By
Kevin Hopkins

Kevin Hopkins hasn’t been involved in other restorations.

However, “Things that are historical matter to me,” and he’d do his best, Hopkins said.

Hopkins hasn’t lived in Hennessey for a lengthy time, but first came to Hennessey as the high school vocal music teacher in 1983 and currently teaches middle school music and STEM in Kingfisher.

Hopkins and his wife, Tammy (Lott), have eight children and five grandchildren.

He owned a computer software and hardware company for 15 years and has served as a director for LoveLINK Ministries, the OU Nazarene Student Center and served on the board of trustees for Southern Nazarene University.

Hopkins also served 35 years as a minister in the Church of the Nazarene, leading churches in Minnesota, Colorado, Washington and Oklahoma.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Oklahoma State in 1983, a master’s of arts in religion from SNU in 1989, and a doctorate in leadership for higher education from Capella University in 2015.
