Accident south of Loyal claims Meeker truck driver

By

A Meeker truck driver died Sunday evening after crashing south of Loyal.

Aaron C. Standlee, 42, was pronounced dead by Kingfisher EMS at the scene of the one-vehicle accident, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The report stated Standlee was driving a 2001 Peterbilt 379 north on County Road N2740 when it failed to properly negotiate the curve at CR E770, which is about five miles south of Loyal.

The semi-truck left the roadway, overcorrected back onto the road and rolled one complete time when the trailer became detached, according to the report.

The semi-truck then rolled an additional one-quarter time and Standlee was partially ejected through the roof.

The report said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which occurred just before 7 p.m.
