Kingfisher County ad valorem taxpayers had paid 17.853% of their property taxes by Tuesday, County Treasurer Robin Rother reported.

Sunday, Dec. 31, is the deadline to pay 2023 county ad valorem tax without penalty.

Rother reminded that after the deadline, delinquent taxes will draw a 1.5% per month penalty.

However, those who desire may pay one-half their tax bill by Dec. 31 and delay the second half payment until March 31 without penalty.

Rother said county property owners who pay their tax by mail will be considered “on time” if the envelopes they mail their tax in has a 2023 postmark affixed.

A total of $8,263,562 of the county’s total $46,287,686 tax bill had been paid effective Tuesday, Rother said.
