( Almost) Too Cool for School
Kingfisher school patrons get tour of district’s new junior high building
Seventh and eighth grade teachers and students have been enjoying the bright, shiny hallways, colorful, functional classrooms and state-of-the-art technology of the new Kingfisher Junior High since it opened after spring break last March. But voters who approved the bond issue funding the building, many of whom don’t have children in the school, got their first look inside at an open house last Friday. The views shown here, captured by Kingfisher High School chief photographer Lily Fletcher Monday morning, include (clockwise from top left) the library, full of books and sunshine); the entryway, with its cheerfully patterned floor and padded bench to welcome students; the cafeteria serving line; a science classroom and the lunchroom.
