Altar Society awards 4 scholarships
Sts. Peter & Paul Altar Society has awarded $500 Scholarships to four Kingfisher High School students who have distinguished themselves in service to the parish during their high school years.
The scholarships were awarded to Mia Franco, Natalie Garrett, Karen Munoz and Alondra Ortega.
Franco is the daughter of Guadalupe and David Franco. In addition to her academic and extracurricular activities, she is an altar server and helps with the turkey dinner and Mardi Gras. Franco has also assisted with the training of new altar servers.
Garrett is the daughter of Sara and Greg Garrett. She is an active altar server for weekend Masses and also for funerals. Garrett helps with the turkey dinner and Mardi Gras. She also assists with Sunday School classes for the younger students.
Muñoz is the daughter of Lupita and Juan Munoz. She attended Sts. Peter & Paul School. In addition to her school activities, Muñoz has been active as an altar server for Masses and funerals. She assists with Vacation Bible School and the turkey dinner and Mardi Gras.
Ortega is the daughter of Hilda Ortega and Jose Garcia. She assists with Sunday School classes, specifically teaching the First Communion classes each year and said she feels she has learned much herself by helping with these classes. Ortega also helps with Vacation Bible School.
