Sts. Peter & Paul Altar Society met Wednesday, Oct. 6, with 20 members present.

The meeting opened with a prayer followed by the pledge to the flag.

Minutes of September’s meeting were read and approved.

The main topic on the agenda was the annual turkey dinner, which is always held the first Sunday in November, but had to be canceled last year due to the pandemic.

Members are busy planning for the dinner, which will be a drive-thru only setup out of Ross Hall this year on Nov. 7.

The traditional dinner of turkey and homemade dressing with all the sides will be served.

Much of the preparation plans were changed to keep working groups smaller.

All customers will start on Sixth Street and turn west on Wyatt Avenue to Ross Hall.

Customers will not leave their vehicle as meals will be delivered to their car.

Credit cards will be accepted this year to expedite the process.

Altar Society members were asked to sign up for upcoming work days.

Turkey dinners will also be delivered free of charge to those Meals on Wheels recipients who place an order prior to Sunday, Nov. 7.

Other items of discussion included planning to serve the parish youth group pizza once every month during their meeting.

Also, Altar Society members voted to sponsor a family for DHS at Christmas.

Special intentions of the group were prayed over.

The meeting closed with prayer.

Refreshments were served by hostesses Brenda Walta and Stacy Pine.

Paige Kraus won the door prize.

The next meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, with Ann Finley and Carol Morkes serving as hostesses.
