The Altrua Club met Jan. 19 at the Chisholm Trail Museum.

Members present were Keri Bivins, Martha Burditt, Carolyn Flood, Dana Golbek, Jneanne Kadavy, Jeanette Kloeppel, Terri Peck, Sue Robinson, Jowanna Sisk and Cheryl Wheelbarger.

Sisk, the club president, conducted the meeting and Robinson served as hostess.

Museum Director Jason Harris gave a brief update on the funding of the museum renovations.

Collections specialist Taylor Stober gave an update on the digitizing of the Eugene Meacham photo file.

The museum has approximately 25,000-30,000 photos in the file and only 2,500 have been scanned, Stober said.

They are currently seeking help with the digitizing as well as identification of people in the photos.

Anyone who is interested in helping should contact Harris or Stober.

At the conclusion of their presentation, the club members presented their yearly donation to Harris to use for projects at the museum.

Bivins introduced the guest speaker, LaRita Sipe, who gave an update on the Kingfisher County Fine Arts program that will be held March 8-9 in the gym at Heritage Elementary School.

At that time she was still looking for a few judges.

She expressed her appreciation to the members of the club for their support of the Fine Arts program which is one of only a few left in the state that is still active.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Serving as hostess will be Sisk and Flood will serve as program leader.
