The Chisholm had a banner night at the Red Carpet Country Tourism Conference on Tuesday in Perry. Part of this year’s conference for the first time was a new awards program designed to recognize tourism-related events, activities and institutions across northwest Oklahoma. Of the six awards presented, three of them were won by the Kingfisher museum. Awards claimed were: Best New Festival or Event for the 2024 Summer Sounds Concert Series, Best Festival for the annual Chuck Wagon Gathering and Best Brochure or Publication for the museum’s “$6 Million for 60 Years” booklet. Red Carpet Country is a regional tourism organization representing 16 counties in northwest and north central Oklahoma. It includes more than 50 cities and towns. [Photo Provided]
