Area county road changes made, stop signs added
Kingfisher County commissioners last Monday authorized placing three new stop signs at a location about one half mile east of Kingfisher, east of Will Rogers Drive.
District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss said a curve at the intersection had been straightened and a 90 degree turn rebuilt at the juncture of NS2855 and EW 810 roads.
Commissioners approved reducing the speed limit on the roads from 45 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour on the two roads in conjunction with the stop sign action.
Moss said the roads are carrying increasing traffic and the actions are designed to increase safety for motorists.
The action calls for two stop signs on EW 810 and one on NS 2855.
Moss said blacktopping is planned for the roads during the coming months.
Commissioners approved right-of-way permits for construction of three pipeline crossings, one in each district as follows:
• K&J Construction – 12-inch and three-inch lay flat poly lines in District 1 six miles east of Kingfisher on each side of S.H. 33 and a 12-inch lay flat line in District 2 beginning at a point six miles south of Hennessey and extending east.
• Mustang Gas Products – four-inch permanent gas line located three miles west and eight miles north of Kingfisher, District 3.
