Artificial turf move pushed back to April
While Kingfisher’s board of education pushed forward on one major project, another will have to wait a couple more weeks before it’s acted upon.
The board tabled an item on Wednesday that would have pursued a lease-purchase agreement to install artificial turf at the football field and high school softball field.
The move was made at Superintendent David Glover’s request.
“I’m going to ask you to table that until I can bring you some new information at our regular board meeting,” Glover said during the special meeting.
The agenda item at the special meeting was for the potential project to be completed by ATG Sports RamTurf.
“I’ve got another company I’m looking at,” Glover said. “I want to bring you both of them to look at.”
Glover also wanted to gather more information from Stephen H. McDonald & Associates, a firm that provides financial services to school districts.
“I want to get some info from them regarding the lease-purchase and how you can budget that in along with this,” Glover said, referring to the 19 bid projects the board members had just approved for renovation at Gilmour Elementary School.
The next scheduled meeting of the board of education is Monday, April 3.
