BFFD big part of county agenda
Big Four Fire Department actions composed a major portion of the Kingfisher County commissioners’ agenda Monday at their weekly meeting.
The department received the go-ahead to seek a grant to replace the brush truck which was destroyed fighting wildfires in late October and to purchase a truck to replace the one that was destroyed.
The board of county commissioners is required to act on behalf of the fire department as Big Four does not have a mayor.
Commissioners also approved BFFD Chief Joey Maschino’s recommenda- tion to accept the low bid of RPC Operations of Kingfi sher totaling $94,738 to remodel the fire station.
Bilt Contracting of El Reno submitted a bid of $103,750 on the job.
In other actions, commissioners approved signing a contract for demolition of the Courthouse Annex Building on which a bid was opened earlier along with authorization order to proceed on the work. The motion to proceed gives the contractor 120 days to complete the project.
Also approved were the following:
• A bid of $305,000 for the purchase of a motor grader for District 1 from Cummins Equipment of Enid;
• Disposal of equipment from the old sheriff’s office;
