If you need an outlet for some excess Christmas cheer, the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office is collecting donations to provide gifts for child victims of crime.

“Due to the significant number of cases this year that involved crimes against children, our Investigations Unit is collecting donations to ensure that each child that was a victim of these crimes is guaranteed a gift for Christmas,” according to a post on the BCSO Facebook page.

“Over the last 12 months, our office has seen a 200% increase in crimes against children,” according to the post.

Checks may be made out to the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office with “children’s gifts” in the memo and mailed to or dropped off at the sheriff’s office at 205 N. Burford, Watonga, 73772.

“All donations will be utilized to purchase the gifts for children currently affected by these crimes as well as children affected in the future,” according to the sheriff’s office Facebook post.
