Kingfisher Band Boosters recently received a sizable “boost” from the Kingfisher Lodge No. 52 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. The local Masons, represented by Pat Sheppard, far left, donated $1,500 to the booster club. Accepting the gift are Coye and Kathy Altizer. “We use the money to provide band camp scholarships and senior scholarships,” said Kathy. “We also provide several meals a year for the band members before games and other activities.” The band also has its annual Pancake Day fundraiser, which helps cut costs of the band’s bi-yearly trip. This school year, band members will travel to the Houston and Galveston areas next April. “We really appreciate the support and help the Masons give the kids,” Kathy said. “Many of them couldn’t go to camp without this support.” [Photo Provided]
