Bourgeois, Reid wed in outdoor Michigan ceremony
Kingfisher native Ellyn Reid, 27, and Bruin Bourgeois, 28, both of Climax, Mich., were united in marriage in a 4 p.m. outdoor ceremony Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, in Battle Creek, Mich.
The couple’s parents are Gary and Christine Reid of Kingfisher and Lee and Donna Bourgeois of The Woodlands, Texas. The bride’s aunt, Susan Vrana of Sapulpa, officiated the outdoor ceremony at Of the Land Farm. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length, A-line gown of blush satin and tulle. The v-neck bodice featured a back cutout and full-length, fitted sleeves of tulle with lace appliques at the shoulders and satin-covered buttons at the cuffs. Lace appliques continued down the tulle skirt, which ended in a chapel-length train.
A cape veil of tulle, also chapel-length, draped from clasps at the shoulders, completing her ensemble.
She carried a bouquet of cream, burnt orange and apricot roses, chrysanthemums and blue delphiniums, accented with eucalyptus, ruscus and pampas grass. The bride was attended by Abby Lorentz of Oklahoma City as maid of honor, Hannah Henley of Owasso, Emily Borbon of Brownwood, Texas, and Haley Goodin of Oklahoma City as bridesmaids and Seth Shepard of Oklahoma City, formerly of Kingfi sher, as brides man.

The reception was held inside a converted greenhouse at the same venue as the ceremony, where guests dined at farm tables with white runners, eucalyptus, bowls of flowers matching the bridal bouquets and fairy lights, complementing the live blooming plants draping from the ceiling and surrounding the outer walls. In lieu of place cards, the bride and groom included a personal note for every guest at each place setting. Following the wedding rehearsal on Sept. 29, the groom’s parents hosted a dinner at Bell’s General Store and Brewery in Kalamazoo, Mich. Guest tables were decorated with silver runners, native sunfl owers in crystal vases and heart-shaped candy boxes.
