Kingfisher County government will operate under a $37,657,601.54 budget – 21% over the fiscal year 2023-24 budget of $31,130,126.27 – during the 2024-25 fiscal year, which began July 1.

The new budget, which was published as a legal notice in the Kingfisher Times and Free Press Wednesday, also included the information that county government ended the last fiscal year with a $32,349,093.05 fund balance.

However, there were $177,647.11 warrants outstanding from last fiscal year along with reserves for interest on warrants, totaling $401,298.03, leaving a carryover of $31,947,795.02 for the new year budget.

This leaves a balance of $5,509,806.52 to raise from ad valorem (property) tax to meet the estimate of needs for the county’s 2025 fiscal year budget.

The budget also contained information for the county health department. That report showed the health department had a cash fund balance of $2,023,584.86 at the end of last fiscal year and would require $1,099,815.37 in ad valorem tax to meet the fund’s $3,123,400.23 needs [Continued From Page 1]
