Parents of young children have the opportunity this week to learn how to install their car seats or booster seats properly.

Safe Kids Oklahoma is hosting a car seat checkup event at the Kingfisher Fire Department on Thursday, Jan. 19.

It will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

The vehicle to be used is required. The child and parent or guardian must attend the checkup.

There will also be a limited number of discounted car seats available. Proof of government assistance is required to purchase the discounted seats.
