Cashion’s Christian church celebrates building milestone
More than 100 people recently attended Cashion Christian Church to celebrate a milestone in its current building.
The church celebrated the 50th anniversary in the building on Saturday, Aug. 6. Speakers were Tim Anthis, Howard Faerber and current pastor, Mark Westman.
Music was provided by Tanya Eakins, Sherri Allsbury, Bert Park and Vinita Park.
Although the building they were celebrating is 50 years in the making, the church itself is twice as old.
A time capsule was provided by Jenseni Harman and opened.
Among the items in it was a bulletin from the church’s dedicatory service that was dated July 23, 1922.
It also included a newspaper clipping dated Aug. 3, 1933, from the Cashion Independent as well as a dedication pamphlet dated April 15, 1973.
