Cashion FFA Chapter holds annual banquet
The Cashion FFA Chapter held its annual banquet on Friday, May 14.
Members celebrated the successes of the 2020-21 school year and honored the patrons that support the FFA program. A meal was provided by Rising Smoke following.
The following awards were presented:
Kenzie Isom was presented the Top Salesman Award for the fall season and Mackey Roper for the spring season.
Ryann Ball was awarded Swine Production Proficiency and Poultry Production Proficiency honors.
Wyatt Collins was awarded a proficiency award in the area of Agriculture Education.
Receiving Scholastic Awards for maintaining straight A’s all school year are the following FFA members: (8th Ag Orientation) Kali Galliher, Maxx Higdon; (Ag Science) Emerson Brandt, Kendra Bryant, Nick Jolliff, Blake Pickle, Derek Sheline, Grayson Stewart; (Ag Power and Technology) Nathaniel Bronaugh, Tyndal Fields, Jake Wilkerson, Jayce Evans; (Animal Science) Ryann Ball, Wyatt Collins, Haley Cotton, Zoe Slimp; and (Horticulture) Skye Cherry.
Wyatt Collins was awarded the FFA Leadership Award.
The FFA Citizenship Award was presented to Kendra Bryant, Derek Sheline and Grayson Stewart.
Nathaniel Bronaugh was presented the FFA Sportsmanship Award.
The Workhorse Award was awarded to Jake Wilkerson.
The Honorary FFA Degree was presented to Tammy Bronaugh and Cheryl Wilkerson for their support of the Cashion FFA program.
Star Greenhand awards were presented to Kendra Bryant, Cathleen Hamil, Derek Sheline, Colyn Sodowsky and Grayson Stewart.
The Chapter Star Placement Award was presented to Wyatt Collins.
Tyndal Fields was awarded the Chapter Star Farmer Award.
Jake Wilkerson was awarded the Cashion 4H and FFA Booster Club Scholarship.
FFA Adviser Holly Drake presented the following awards:
• Outstanding 8th grade award to Bella Butler and Hank Hudson.
• Braeden Stewart was recognized for receiving his American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention.
• Nathaniel Bronaugh was awarded the FFA Teamwork Award.
• The FFA Success Award was presented to Ryann Ball.
• Jayce Evans was awarded the FFA Growth Award.
• Kenzie Isom was awarded the FFA Effort Award.
• The FFA Innovation Award was presented to Tyndal Fields.
• Wyatt Collins was given the FFA Attitude Award.
• The FFA Leadership Award was presented to Jake Wilkerson.
• Kendra Bryant was awarded the “And Then Some” Award for having the most FFA points during the 2020-2021 school year.
• Jayce Evans was honored for accumulating the most team points from his FFA small group.
Other awards presented included FFA Degrees, CDE and LDE contest participation, retiring FFA officers and senior plaques.
The banquet wrapped up with the announcing of the Cashion FFA Officer Team for the 2021-22 school year: Jayce Evans, president; Ryann Ball, vice president; Kendra Bryant, secretary; Tyndal Fields, treasurer; Wyatt Collins, reporter; Derek Sheline, sentinel; Grayson Stewart, parliamentarian; and Kenzie Isom, historian.
