Cashion FFA earning stellar honor at national convention

For many years, Cashion has been known for a plethora of extracurricular activities.

Yet, over the past year, Cashion’s FFA chapter especially stood out.

The chapter showed up in papers, received local and state awards and now is preparing to receive a national award.

But these things weren’t given or easily achieved.

Each and every award, certificate or placing was earned and merited.

Cashion FFA Adviser Holly Drake felt so strongly about the chapter’s work and honors that she applied for a 2022 National Chapter Award.

In the application, chapters have to thoroughly describe and explain the their activities and achievements in a form of three topics and five examples along with describing the chapter’s goals in depth.

Drake did just that, allowing the chapter to claim a 3-Star Chapter Rating.

This is the highest rating a chapter can receive.

Cashion is one of just 419 chapters in the nation to receive this award.

To put this in even more perspective, there are 8,995 chapters across the United States.

The chapter will receive the award at the 95th National FFA Convention this week in Indianapolis, Ind.
