Cashion FFA keeping busy with contests, projects and more
The Cashion FFA Chapter has been non-stop since the school year started. Our fall semester was filled with travels, contests, convention and several community service projects.
In October, our FFA chapter was recognized at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis for being a National Gold Emblem Chapter.
Our big fundraiser of selling Blue and Gold and DJ’s Fundraising products was also held, where our chapter sold $52,000 in products with FFA member Maggie Carroll being the top salesperson with a total of $9,358.
FFA members Dally Pedersen, Tinley Roberts, Treyton Kordis and Sadie Weaver exhibited their livestock at the Kingfisher County, Oklahoma and Tulsa State Fairs.
FFA freshman, Molly Mayes, placed fourth at the Oklahoma FFA State Quiz contest in Stillwater.
Our shooting team members stayed busy all fall practicing and shooting in contests such as the OYE Shooting contest, the OWCF shoot at Cedar Gate, Oklahoma FFA Sporting Clays and the Great Plains Kubota shoot.
Our Opening and Closing Ceremonies, FFA Creed and FFA Quiz teams traveled to many contests around the state.
FFA member Jaxton Bailey- Casey has traveled to several FFA Auctioneering contests as well.
Our members are living to serve as well. We hosted our annual fall blood drive with the Oklahoma Blood Institute, collected and donated 640lbs of food to our local food bank, collected and donated personal hygiene items for our local angel tree, worked at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank with the Oklahoma Pork Council and participated in the “Give a Ham” challenge.
The 75th annual Cashion Achievement Day activities were recently held.
Members participated in the trap shooting and archery contest on January 26, 2025.
The floral and Skillathon contest were held Jan. 28.
The ag mechanics, horse, poultry, rabbit and dog show were held Jan. 31.
While the livestock show was held Feb. 2, with the calf fry dinner on Feb. 2.
The Achievement Day events were a huge success and a diverse opportunity to include many Cashion 4-H and FFA members.
Our FFA members are currently exhibiting livestock, preparing for upcoming CDE and LDE contests, and growing their SAE projects.
The horticulture students have been busy growing and preparing plants for the upcoming plant sale at the school greenhouse.
Due to the inclement weather and livestock shows, we will be celebrating FFA Week March 3-7, with many activities for our FFA members to participate in.
With the increased growth in our FFA program, we are excited for the possibility to add an additional FFA advisor in the future.
No doubt the future looks bright for the Cashion FFA members as the miles and memories are still to come.
