CFL’s annual fundraising gala brings in $1.5 million
The Center of Family Love (CFL) claimed overwhelming success of its annual Gift of Love Gala, where 1,000 individuals attended and raised $1.5 million.
“This significant milestone will immensely benefi t those with intellectual disabilities,” said Debbie Espinosa, president and CEO of CFL.
The black-tie event, held last month at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, provided the platform that launched a new direction and expansion for the Okarche-based organization.
Founded in 1981, the CFL has been providing lifelong care and career opportunities for adults conquering disabilities, free of charge to every resident.
The gala was not just financially successful; it was a night to remember for everyone involved, Espinosa said. The residents that live at CFL played a key role in the success of the evening, from greeting guests with warm smiles to performing an energetic sock hop-style dance routine.
Espinosa said their involvement added a unique and heartwarming touch to the event.
“The enthusiasm and participation of our residents made the evening so special,” said Espinosa.
“We are so excited for the many breakthroughs we have achieved throughout these 43 years, but we are not finished...not even close!”
Espinosa said soon the CFL will begin serving an additional 500 or more individuals each year with learning differences through its new state-of-theart educational center near Oklahoma City.
“This impact will begin the ripple effect that will change the world for generations who are conquering disabilities,” Espinosa said.
The funds raised from the Gift of Love Gala will be instrumental in advancing the Center of Family Love’s next chapter.
A significant portion of the proceeds will go toward their capital campaign for the new state-of-the-art training facility designed to host career opportunities with premier businesses and provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
“This new chapter will further our commitment to enhancing the lives of our residents by offering programs and services that promote independence, community integration and personal growth,” said Espinosa.
