Winners in the 23rd annual Hennessey Friends of the Library Chili Cookoff were:

• Cook’s Choice, Lions Club (Dagan Hardin), first; Clif Vogt, second, and Wheatland Veterinary Clinic (Dr. James Matthew Matousek and family), third.

• Best Table Decoration, Molly Bonham, first; Wheatland Vet Clinic, second, and 4-T’s Family Market (Tim Taylor), third.

• People’s Choice, Diamond M Cattle Co. (Matousek Family), first; Sirrah Investments (Mike Harris), second, and Wheatland Vet Clinic, third.

• Top Dollar, Clif Vogt, first; 4-T’s Family Market, second, and Diamond M. Cattle Co., third.

The event was held at the Hennessey High School cafeteria Saturday, Jan. 22.

There were only 11 chili competitors at this year’s event and a smaller crowd, but it was a success, said FOL member Ann Taylor.

There were about $4,500 in donations after expenses, she said.
