Christian Solis will become Hennessey police chief

Hennessey Police Sgt. Christian Solis will be the town’s new police chief effective Dec. 20.

He will replace Chief Aaron Pitts who was elected as Kingfisher County sheriff and will take that office in January.

Although he hasn’t officially had the title, “Christian has also been our assistant police chief,” Pitts told the KT&FP Thursday afternoon.

Hennessey Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman announced Solis’ appointment in her monthly board report released Thursday.

Solis, a 2013 Hennessey High School graduate, was first hired in Hennessey as a reserve police officer in December 2019.

He was hired in Hennessey as a temporary officer in January 2020, then that August became a fulltime Hennessey officer.

In addition to his duties at the Hennessey Police Department, Solis has also been the Hennessey Public Schools’ resource officer since July 2022.

He and his wife, Madison, have a son, Merick, 6.
