CHS donates $5K to Dover FFA

By

Through the CHS Seeds for Stewardship program, the Dover FFA chapter is receiving $5,000.

These funds will be used to grow the FFA program and improve the quality of education offered through the program’s curriculum.

“We are working to expand access to our FFA program through diverse materials and new equipment,” said Ryan Burns, ag teacher and FFA advisor at Dover High School.

“Funds from the CHS Seeds for Stewardship program will allow us to increase the quality of education for our students through the purchase of new equipment and tools. The goal of our program is to prepare youth for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.”

The CHS Seeds for Stewardship program supports requests that strengthen and uplift hometown communities.

Priority is given to projects that align with ag safety and farmer well-being, agriculture education and rural community vitality.

According to CHS Director of Operations Jason Kroener, the funds like those being donated by the CHS business unit based in Okarche are part of the CHS commitment to empower a safer, stronger rural America through financial support that goes directly back into communities where CHS owners, customers and employees live, work and do business.

“CHS is proud to offer our support to the Dover FFA chapter,” Kroener said.

“It is imperative for cooperatives to support future agriculturalists, such as the Dover FFA members.”

Since 2019, CHS ag retail and feed mill locations have donated more than $1.09 million to local communities and organizations through CHS Seeds for Stewardship.
