As an electric cooperative, our top priority is always to provide reliable, affordable energy to you, the consumer-members we serve.

Because we are a co-op, our mission is to enrich the lives of our members and serve the long-term interests of our local community – and this mission has never been more critical than in recent years.

One of the seven principles that guides all co-ops is “concern for community.”

This principle is the essential DNA of Cimarron Electric Cooperative, and it sets us apart from other electric utilities.

You’re probably aware of our GIVE-A-WATT program, where we take donations from generous members like you who have donated to help our most vulnerable neighbors pay their bills around the upcoming holiday season.

Or our scholarship program, where we award a scholarship to our communities’ brightest young people.

We also have a strong commitment to safety – not just for our employees, but for our community as well. We visit schools to teach children of all ages how to stay safe around electricity.

We hold safety demonstrations at community meetings and other gatherings. We have recently built a “high voltage” demonstration trailer, which will give our communities an opportunity to learn safety precautions around high voltage.

Cimarron Electric invests in the economic development of the community through an active role in our local Chambers of Commerce.

We’ve made our meeting room and additional office space available for community meetings and events.

You’ll also see our em-ployees serving on local boards, coaching youth sports, volunteering at charitable events and helping at local events.

Because when you work at a co-op, you understand how important a strong community is – after all, without you, the co-op wouldn’t exist.

We know that our core job is to keep the lights on; but our passion is our community.

Because we live and work here too, we want to make it a better place for all.

In 1936, Cimarron Electric was built by the community to serve the community and that’s what we’ll continue to do.
